A young soldier back from the wars, and at loose ends, and somewhat forlorn, has been hired by an expedition, sort of an archaeological expedition...I seem to be along as an observer...we're all by some ruins...giant walls made of weather worn stones stacked oddly...the walls aren't smooth, but the building is like a series of stone work arches right next to one another, and very worn and weather beaten...'what is it?' I ask...'for storage of antiquities'..and I see the front of the building, which is modern,,, and sorta see egyptian antiquities...the expedition party moves along to an ancient temple, and the young soldier is there, and is very weakened, barely able to stand....and the next scene is inside a spa....and I say, 'this is a real spa'...and it's explained why I'm there, I have experiences that will help the young soldier...or something like that!...oh...inside the temple was a chinese false door...
quote (from wiki)
Chinese architecture from early times used concepts from Chinese cosmology such as feng shui (geomancy) and Taoism to organize construction and layout from common residences to imperial and religious structures.[2] This includes the use of:
- Screen walls to face the main entrance of the house, which stems from the belief that evil things travel in straight lines.
I'm on a train, I think, and traveling with friends to a northern coastal city I'd been to years before...we come out from behind a roadside hill side, and begin to see the city through the left windows...I have video of my years ago visit, from just such a train, and I'm showing it to the passengers....the scene outside the windows is just like the video, but out of sync....but slowly the video becomes in sync, and just as we pass a large ferris wheel, or something like a ferris wheel seen on edge, the video and the real scene match and are in sync exactly....we're in our hotel room, and I announce I want to walk about the city and see old sights....I walk to the window, which is floor to ceiling, and clouded with moisture...outside I recognize sidewalks and street....I walk the street, cross the divided street, and climb a steep hill that will take me to the city's central park..I look back, and see the beginning of the canyon I'm in, a curve of shingle top roofs, homes closely together...from very high, I have a view of the city...and I'm on a road, in a car, or something, and can see across the lane to my left the beach and ocean..'will I see birds?' I think, and see pelicans...further along there's a marsh on my right, and I see more pelicans, and a bird with red feathers, patchy near its head, sorta like a pheasant, and then the road leaves the coast, and is winding, a single black top road, too narrow for two cars, and without markings, and I'm not sure I'm in a car, but I'm moving very fast on the black road...
I'm in the company of someone sorta like the fbi agent in the show, bones, and he's dickering with an odd small old man in like a pawn shop...the old man has something, and will trade...the agent offers an old cheap guitar, and the old man takes it, but doesn't think it worth the trade, and takes the strings off, removes a fret, and hands the agent the metal fret...'is it gold?' I ask...'no' it's said...'I'll trade for a chicken dinner', the old man says....and I'm with the agent at like a riprap along a road and beach...I'm above, and below the agent is on the sand, chasing a chicken...I try to help by herding the chicken from above...I even find an abandon crutch like thing left in the rocks, it's covered with black foam cushioning, and even though very long, I cant reach the chicken with it...the agent steps on the chicken...briefly, I see the old man surrounded by remains of chicken dinner..
Dreams are rude...I have no idea what the chicken was in trade for! Chinese courtyards have a false door...on entry, one runs into a wall, and has to go to one side or another to go around and reach the courtyard...the final scene in the Sandpebbles movie has this...the false wall is to keep out demons...in wow, many of the cities, temples, dungeons, and such, have these false doors...the wow game makers really have a fine command of ancient lore and stuff!! The syncing video is some kind of technical insight into just how a dream works, the kinda thing I'm kinda after. On the web, I gathered this bit...it's suspected that people have always dreamed in color, until the advent of black and white tv, after which reports of black and white dreams began to be made. That's a 'quest item' sorta thing I pick up on. I have had the ruins dream before, and the northern city too, which I can name, but the blog has boundaries! And I'll try to stay within them!
